A key resupply port for the fleets of the Imperium in Eternum, Port Carrius is frequented by all major Imperial Battlefleets.

Overview

Although capable of building new vessels, Port Carrius's real role is as a massive depot for Battlefleet Eternum, with near planetoid sized hydrogen fuel tanks, oversized plasma reactors, limitless stores of ammunition and weapons, and large quantities of any other consumables the Battlefleet requires. Port Carrius is also the headquarters of the Armsmen and Breachers of the sector, and it is here that the more elite are trained and assigned out as needed. This is not a coincidence, as Port Carrius is a supersized target for any who wish to conquer Eternum, however the rows and rows of macrocannon, lance, and missile batteries with plentiful strike craft bays, combined with Port Carrius being where Eternum's Ramiles and Judicator class Starforts resupply means a traditional fleet assault is near-suicide, thus the Imperium's many enemies seek to either conquer her, or destroy her, from within.

The First Poxwar was the closest Carrius came to falling, with a significant uprising of menials, laborers, mutants, and traitorous armsmen spurred to action by Rotbelchers who managed to infiltrate the station almost seizing full control of her defenses. Only through the detonation of one of the massive H fuel tanks was she kept a loyal servant of the Imperium, though the necessity of returning to service and supplying the ongoing war effort to repel the invasion of Eternum resulted in the ringleaders escaping before a full cleansing effort could be launched. To this day, their identities are a mystery, though in recent years some believe their foul touch has resurfaced, with whole bay crews missing or unaccounted withdrawals from the H fuel storage or armament stores happening occasionally. As a precaution, Eternum's conclave has requested the Order of the Purple Communion investigate and burn out any lingering heresy, though the reality of the wars in Eternum have prevented this thus far.
