Overview

The largest hive world in Makerus, NuberrLen is a snowy and frigid world, with its hives kept livable through large domes erected during the dark age of technology. Although their details of construction have been lost, they have been mostly maintained with only a few hives sporting cracks or breaches. NuberrLen is heavily stratified class-wise, even more so than the average Imperial world, with the hive's prestige directly correlated with its dime's condition. The lesser nobles and dregs of society live in patchwork domes that require constant, dangerous, and manual clearing to prevent ice from collapsing it in, while the capital hive and other well off hives still have mostly autonomous de-icing. The hives are connected through an ancient cable train system that hangs above the snow, connected by massive towers that each have an enclave responsible for keeping the lines running. This is dangerous work, as the constant blizzards and temperature can freeze a man not wearing thermo-regulated clothing in a few minutes, and all but the most advanced thermo-clothing can only last a few hours.

This utterly inhospitable environment has not allowed NuberrLen to go untouched by the enemies of the Imperium, and the world was recipient to a significant invasion during the First Poxwar- an invasion that led to two of the irreplaceable heating domes to be purposefully collapsed to stymie the infection of the ruinous powers. The cable trains still must go through the collapsed hives to reach others, and the tower enclaves here frequently encounter remnants of the poxwalker infection that led to the hive's destruction when the hive's still continuing death-throes unearth a hibernating horde. Things worse than the undead are said to lurk in these ruins, and it is considered incredibly baleful to look out of the cable train when traveling through the hive's ruins. The PDF has benefited from this however, and the NuberrLen Winterjaegar Imperial Guard regiments are prized by commanders on arctic worlds.
