Overview

A cold world, Olgii possesses one of the lowest average temperature amongst inhabited worlds in Eternum. Though not as frigid as NuberrLen, Olgii's climate remains dangerous. While Olgii is far more survivable than the man freezing storms that ravage NuberrLen's surface, the population of Olgii is exposed more frequently.. Bundled in thick coats, Olgii's population is concentrated around massive manufactorums befitting an industrial world, where they live and work in the heat given off by the massive factories. The manufactorums are designed to capture heat given off during smelting in giant thermo-pipe networks that snake through Olgii's cities, with roads and pathways heated by steam hubs that vent steam and warm the surrounding area.

Hab-complexes are insulated depending on class, with nobles and more well to do citizens living in well regulated temperate homes, while the lower class menials and dregs live in patchwork homes that barely keep the temperature above freezing. Olgii's factories constantly churn out ammunition and consumer goods for export, using locally sourced minerals where possible. Contrary to most world's miners that are forced into their lot, Olgiians fiercely compete for mining work as the mines are far warmer than even the manufactorum assembly lines, and as most mines are remote and powered locally miners and their families thus live in warm homes comparable to more luxurious homes in cities. Olgii is naturally well protected due to its proximity to Confedus and relative far distance to the industrial core of Richmon, though it is no stranger to conflict.

Olgii's system Ithac is occasionally in the path of randomly moving space hulks, derelicts the orks of Arkamedes frequently inhabit. Whenever these orks appear, rearing for a fight after their journey, they quickly descend on Olgii to loot and pillage. The temperature isn't ideal for Ork biology and does inhibit spore propagation, but the Greenskins are nothing if not resilient and spores still occasionally take root. The temperature is far more of a hindrance to humanity, as the standard PDF and Guard equipment cannot function long in the frigid blizzards and cold snaps Olgii frequently suffers. Utilizing converted civilian and later specially adapted Guard equipment, the Olgii planetary defense force has become skilled at arctic warfare and can fight ork incursions with a clockwork efficiency. Eternum Militarum Command took note of their efficacy, and thus the Olgi Snowjaegar Regiments were borne. Using the snow to their advantage, Snowjaegar recon forces ski to identify and harass, and the regiment as a whole can hide in the snow and ice, only revealing themselves when their ambush is sprung. Snowjaegars can be found across Eternum in battle zones with winter climates where they have proven a useful asset. Snowjaegars have a mixed reputation however, as outside of arctic environments they are woefully unprepared, and too many stubborn or inexperienced commanders have wasted the Snowjaegars in non-optimal environments. Still, for those who can play to the Snowjaegar strengths, they are a reliable and effective force, so much so that former Snowjaegars can be found in the employ of Inquisitors and Rogue Traders who frequent arctic environs.
