Overview
Built under the direction of and self-named by one of Caligula's more notable governors, Lucius Domitius Ahenobarbus Nero, Nero's Palace was originally the late governor and preeminent aristocrats vacation home turned palace in exile until the descendants of Nero returned to rule Caligula in person. Since then, the multitude of new Caligulan nobles, along with their attendant serfs, continue to expand Nero's Palace decade after decade. The station complex contains massive decks for the servants and workers that serve the nobles of Caligula, and the most loyal house guards of Caligula protect Nero's Palace from rabble and pirates, though any serious attack would overwhelm the troops that are slightly better than normal PDF. The cold trade thrives on Nero's Palace, as xenotech and other proscribed items are always in vogue for nobles bored of more banal (for the nobles) amusement. As a result, Nero's Palace is a frequent stop for Rogue Traders and Cold Traders where they make deals in leisure domes that are overseen by House Guards of whichever nobles are tangentially involved.
