DarkAngelsIntercessor
The Dark Angels are considered amongst the most powerful and secretive of the Loyalist Space Marine Chapters. They were the Ist Legion of the original 20 Space Marine Legions to be created during the First Founding of the 30th Millennium.

"Since the founding of their Legion at the birth of the Imperium, the Space Marines of the Dark Angels have been dreaded by their enemies and held in awe by those they protect. Stubborn and relentless in battle, ever vigilant and zealous in their pursuit of their duties, the Dark Angels are among the Emperor's most faithful servants. Yet, it was not always so. For ten millennia the Dark Angels have harboured a sinister secret, an act so terrible and shameful it threatens everything the Dark Angels hold most dear – and may yet bring them eternal damnation."

The Dark Angels are considered amongst the most powerful and secretive of the Loyalist Space Marine Chapters. They were the Ist Legion of the original 20 Space Marine Legions to be created during the First Founding of the 30th Millennium.

Though they claim complete allegiance and service to the Emperor of Mankind, their actions and secret goals at times seem at odds with that professed loyalty, as the Dark Angels strive above all other things to atone for an ancient crime of betrayal committed over 10,000 standard years ago against the trust of the Emperor during the time of the Horus Heresy.

The Dark Angels stand first amongst the Space Marine Chapters, as they have done since their very inception as the Ist Legion. They are a proud Chapter, with traditions and rituals that date back to the earliest days of the Imperium of Man.

Dark Angels Special Rules

In addition to the rules below, Dark Angels units draw upon the special rules found within the Adeptus Astartes page.

Grim Resolve

The stalwart descendants of the Lion are renowned for their unshakeable resolve, enduring tenacity and strict fire discipline in battle.

  • Each time a model with this tactic makes an attack, unless that model's unit has moved this turn (excluding pile-in and consolidation moves), add 1 to that attack’s hit roll (including overwatch).
  • Each time a LD test is taken for a unit with this tactic, it ignores any negative modifiers.

Deathwing

No traitor can stay the wrath of the Dark Angels 1st Company.

A model with this special rule has the Fearless and Hatred (Chaos Space Marines) special rules.

Ravenwing

The Dark Angels 2nd Company are the hunstmen of the Chapter, and undisputed masters of mounted combat.

A model with this special rule can re-roll failed cover saves when it Jinks.

Inner Circle

Those with true knowledge of the Unforgiven’s quest for absolution are veteran warriors who fear nothing as much as failing in their Chapter’s secret hunt for the Fallen.

This unit can choose to automatically pass Morale tests. In addition, you can re-roll failed hit rolls in the Fight phase for attacks by this unit that target a FALLEN unit.

Sons of the Lion

Much like their Primarch, the Dark Angels have a long history of being tactically astute, able to persecute their wars on any front with the appropriate application of their warriors and specialist wings.

Units with this ability have the following abilities, which are described below: Speed of the Raven; Fire Discipline; Implacable.

Speed of the Raven: While the Devastator Doctrine is active for your army:

  • Add 3" to the Move characteristic of RAVENWING models from your army.
  • RAVENWING units from your army are eligible to shoot in a turn in which they Advanced. Each time a model in that unit makes a ranged attack in a turn in which it Advanced, that attack suffers the penalty incurred to the hit roll as if firing an Assault weapon.

Fire Discipline: While the Tactical Doctrine is active for your army, INFANTRY models from your army (excluding DEATHWING models) can make attacks with Rapid Fire and Assault weapons (excluding Blast weapons) while within Engagement Range of enemy units, but must target an enemy unit that is within Engagement Range of its own unit when they do so. In such circumstances, the model can target an enemy unit even if other friendly units are within Engagement Range of the same enemy unit, and while it is making such an attack, it has a Ballistic Skill characteristic of 3.

Implacable: While the Assault Doctrine is active for your army, each time a DEATHWING INFANTRY or DEATHWING Dreadnought model from your army makes a melee attack against a CHARACTER unit or unit that contains any models with a Wounds characteristic of 4 or more, you can re-roll the wound roll.

Chapter Command

If your army is Battle-forged and includes any ADEPTUS ASTARTES Detachments (excluding Auxiliary Support, Super-heavy Auxiliary or Fortification Network Detachments), then when you muster your army, you can upgrade any of the following ADEPTUS ASTARTES CHARACTER units in your army: CAPTAIN, CHAPLAIN, LIBRARIAN, TECHMARINE, APOTHECARY, ANCIENT, COMPANY CHAMPION.

Each time you upgrade one of the aforementioned units, the points value of that unit is increased by the amount shown in the table. Make a note on your army roster each time you upgrade a unit using these rules.

Each time you upgrade a unit, it gains a new Special Rule, as shown in the Chapter Command Special Rulecolumn of the table below. It also gains one or more additional abilities, as shown in the appropriate section below, as well as access to bespoke Warlord Traits and Relics (these are considered to be Chapter Relics for all rules purposes). These units are still considered to be the same datasheet for the purposes of any mission rules that limit the number of times any particular datasheet can be included in your army.
