Overview

An unstable world, Atka is home to large prometheum wells, adamantine veins and rare flogiston deposits that are constantly emerging due to the significant tectonic activity on the world. Atka does have life, but it is limited to the sulphuric-promethium fog that blankets the ground, a fog that poses a serious threat to anything not made of adamantine or coated in plasteel. Called Deathfog by the unlucky inhabitants, all mining and habitats are elevated to above the Deathfog - which hugs near the ground. Mining and drilling are done by servitors who are used until the Deathfog breaks them down, or miners who pull the short straw and have only minutes to complete their work before their protective suit melts away. Most work is done from the platforms, and onsite refineries prepare both prometheum, adamantine, and flogiston for shipment. As most of the dangerous work is handled by servitors, the world is surprisingly sparsely populated for its raw material output. Still, its proximity to Auerilis IV and the Bubonic Rift have resulted in, although not many, some Imperial garrisons and orbital defense platforms. Thus far, no serious forces have turned their eye towards Atka, but if Auerilis IV weakens Atka is sure to be a target for its plentiful resources.
