Overview
The smallest diocese in Eternum, Beaumonde, like many worlds in Makerus, is a beautifully crafted and maintained world with stained glass windows the size of buildings, and cathedrals so massive they have their own internal transit system. Hidden from the military front, Beaumonde has escaped all warfare that Makerus suffered, with its only contribution to the First Poxwar (outside of prayers and donations) being the Martyr Fleet - a collection of pilgrim ships, derelict mining vessels, and barely functioning craft that, filled with Pilgrims, charged into the brutal orbital battle taking place above the Shield of Absolution during the climax of the first Poxwar. These pilgrims surprised the heretic fleet, ramming their ships at full speed with no regard for their own lives - filled with explosives and detonated on impact. The Martyrs effort swung the course of the battle in the Imperium's favor, likely ending the first Poxwar far earlier than it would otherwise. To this day, vessels in Makerus include the actions of the Martyr fleet in their sermons, and even the Bulwark participate in the Decennial memorial service on Beaumonde to honor the faithful pilgrim's sacrifice.
