Overview

A resettled now classed frontier world, Blufall was originally a civilized world that marked the farthest spinward world in the Kalibras subsector that lost its entire population during the expansion of the Phobox Anomaly. Blufall was investigated after failing to pay their tithe and failure to respond to Astropathic messages, but the Imperial forces sent to investigate failed to find any trace of the respectively sized population. Even with the help of the Mechanicus, no clues to what caused the mass vanishing were turned up - moldy dinners still set on the tables of habdomes, forge assembly lines still turning, and planetary defense force weapons still in their armory only deepened the mystery, with it appearing that the entire population got up and left with no rhyme or reason. The Ordos investigation found no trace of chaotic forces, though the Ordo Xenos formulated some theories there was nothing concrete to explain the disappearance of an entire Imperial populace. As the Imperial world closest to the Deadspace, this only deepened the enigma of the Nullzone, and earned Blufall a reputation of a doomed world. Still, the Imperium is undeterred by such things and the population was officially stated to have suffered a planetwide gas leak that has since been fixed. The new wave of colonists arrived shortly thereafter, made up completely of prisoners arrested for minor crimes (like mealtheft, petty thievery from a menial, or the most serious of minor crimes, duplex intinging) political enemies of sector nobility, freethinkers, individuals who criticized the wrong individuals, and a few of the most crazy, greedy, or plain suicidal folks. Blufall has had no reported incidents since the Disappearance, but its denizens constantly stare towards the Nullzone, lock their doors, and keep their slugthrowers close. The Ordos have orchestrated the construction of several Imperial Outposts to monitor and defend the world, as although Blufall has little value with nothing of note aside from its moderate mineral resources, it does function as an early warning for any potential threat to the far more valuable Old Worlds of Kalibras. These isolated outposts are kept away from civilian towns, and dot the large blue-gray deserts that cover the planet.
