Overview

One of the most valuable, though contentious worlds in Gothar, Bulgan has been the site of many insurrections and invasions, all to gain control of its massive mineral mines. Inquisitorial investigations believe there is something present in the world that taints those who live there, as even isolated mines have spawned cults following the ruinous powers among the desperate. This taint has continued to exist even after multiple purges and consecrations, though the mass resources mined are too valuable to abandon. The mines most susceptible to corruption lie at the tips of the 8 core fractal lines that run through the planet, and these are the mines purged every year. Convicts are shipped in to mine, and at the end of every year the planet's arbites, secret police, and PDF scour every mine for any sign of taint - if any is found the whole mine is purged and re-consectrated before the next batch of miners arrive. Some in the sector, primarily Explorators and Rogue Traders (though there a few Inquisitors or Interrogators), believe there must be hidden archeotech or xenos artifacts hidden deep within the world though any survey expedition is stopped before landing as only charter captains (accompanied by the world's confessors) are authorized to land on the world, the only other way being to have authorization from Eternum's Conclave. This has been breached a few times, with the hastily erected fortifications still standing from the aftermath of the invasion during the first Poxwar.
