Overview

The preeminent and most powerful Forge World in Eternum, Filimars has repeatedly saved the sector through its sheer industrial output. Although reclusive and rarely deploying her fleets or skittarii, Filimars tech-priests can be found in nearly every regiment and world in the sector serving as effective stewards of Holy Technology. Massive wastelands filled with refuse, discarded machines, and pollution lie between Filimars's forge clusters, saturated with radiation, rogue errant machines, and mutants. The massive forge clusters stretch from the void above Filimars all the way to the world's geothermal vents hidden deep beneath the surface, filled with immensely powerful production manufactorums and powered through massive geothermal and plasma generators.

Each forge cluster has it's own Fabricator Locii who are responsible for their cluster's specialized production, from the plasma weaponry focused Therma Tau Operand Cluster to the melta weaponry and tanks of Opticon Gamma Epsilon Theta to the titan forges of Iota Rho Lambda. Hundreds of these forge clusters cover Filimars, ranging in size but each massive complexes. Each Fabricator Locii reports to the Fabricator General of Filimars, who adjusts and manages the entire world from the Forge Nexus. Avoiding the harsh surface the Forge Clusters are all linked together by massive above ground rail bridges, where massive building sized trains constantly ferry raw resources, finished products, and tech-priests and servitors. These bridges contain a maze of pipes and wires, linking the cluster's fluid systems, noosphere, machine spirits and more, and are maintained by a labyrinth of maintenance corridors, access hatches, and control rooms that resemble a void-ship more than a building. Large servitor colonies control each train, controlling them in precise movements all centrally coordinated by subroutines in the Fabricator General's mind. Accidents are inevitable with any system, and with each rail as wide as several Baneblades placed together and trains running close to each other for maximum efficiency all it takes is one distracted lapse for catastrophe to occur. Failing to maintain the train system has led to Fabricator Generals being deposed in the past, with the last incident occurring during production to help supply the Cadian Gate - an accident that saw one of the megalithic trains fail to slow down during a curved section of track near Forge Cluster Lambda Kappa Nu that resulted in 3 spire collapses and tens of million servitors and techpriests dead.

Filimars is responsible for coordinating and producing the bulk of the unbelievably massive amounts of weapons Eternum requires, from Baneblades to plasma pistols and bolters to Thunderhawks. Although visitors are not forbidden from traveling to Filimars even those with sound reasons are loathe to visit, as the thick smog and dangerous radstorms necessitate rebreathers and protection to visit anywhere besides the Audience Chamber purposefully built to receive dignitaries. The priesthood of Filimars is naturally unconcerned with the lethal hazards of their world, as the Omnissiah offers protection to his favored through implants and augmentation that removes the weak flesh.

Relationship with the Imperium

Filimars meets their ancient obligation to the Imperium of Eternum, though anything more than stipulated by ancient convents is entirely dependent on the whims of the ruling class of Filimars. The Crimson Bulwark has close ties with Filimars, owing to the former's veneration of the Machine Spirit in the form of ancestor worship and the multitude of joint strike forces formed between the two. This has ensured that the Bulwark, despite all their losses in the First Poxwar, possesses a robust armory and plentiful Dreadnoughts and other vehicles. The Techmarines that learned from Filimars even share in the more secret forge methods Filimars possesses, a serious boon to the Chapter. The Imperial Guard is less lucky, and beyond the required allotment to the Departmento Munitorum Guard regiments in Eternum are fortunate to receive an extra laspack, let alone an extra special weapon. Filimars does make exceptions through the actions of individual Magi who contract the services of the Guard in dangerous expeditions to ruins like Hyacinthum which while often a death sentence, if successful the regiments receive enhanced armor, sensors, and weapons. Even in death their expeditions are not in vain however, as the Magos receives data and the Munitorum receives extra equipment. The relationship with the Ecclesiarchy is more strained due to disagreements of faith, and thus the Sisters of Battle and Ecclesiastical Crusaders predominantly use relics, equipment provided by the ancient concords, and whatever they can acquire. The Inquisition is more varied, with their relationship entirely dependent on the Inquisitor and their political games. Inquisitor Barborasa, for example, has a lukewarm relationship owing to his retinue possessing a, by the standards of Filimars, tech-priest that is dangerously progressive. This forces him to look elsewhere for more advanced technology, or otherwise arrange unfavorable agreements with the Mechanicus of Filimars. Inquisitor Toddbearer in contrast enjoys a very close relationship with Filimars, his excessively puritan ways aligning with their values closely, so although he has alienated many allies in Eternum he possesses means to bring advanced technology and firepower.

Relationship with Mars

Filimars possesses a deep affinity for Mars, exemplified in the original name of the world changed to Filimars meaning Loyal to Mars. This relationship has continued for millenia and even today Filimars emulates Mar's colors with some small variations. The Legios Cybernetica also harkens Mars in its organization and color scheme, though far from its purpose. Filimars skittarii are rarely found out of the domain of the Forge World, only being stationed at locations pertinent to Filimars, with the Aural Gate being one of the few worlds where the skittarii assist in protecting her, though primarily for the ancient archeotech ministered to by Magi of Filimars used to limit unapproved travel. Most officers in Eternum's Militarum Command now know not to pester the forge world for skittarii reinforcements, as it only brings binaric curses and 'random' mechanical failures plaguing the brash officer. Filimars current relationship with Mars has cooled somewhat with Cowl's recent meteoric rise, though it remains to be seen if this changes how the two Forge Worlds interact.
