Overview

A large mining world, Gettusburg possesses large orbital platforms that orbit the world and hold masses of raw materials. The orbital platforms are by necessity, as the world's excessively turbulent atmosphere and frequent ion storms make it exceedingly difficult for craft not built for the unique world's dangerous weather. Gettusburg's mineral output is significant enough to make the extra effort in collecting it worthwhile, and scores of Kodiak transports ferry resources to orbit from mine-clusters all over the planet. The orbital platforms are tempting targets for pirates and thieves, but Gettusburg's orbital defenses keep the worst away. The planet itself is craggy and filled with badlands, with most of the population centered around the capital Tarsonis, though clusters of habs and towns can be found near the many mines of Gettusburg. The worst of the weather is limited to the sky, but most transport is still done by large, reinforced Imperial freight trains that cross the world gathering resources for processing at one of the spaceports of the world. Gettusburg's PDF is responsible for defending these trains and other facilities critical for the tithe, though occasionally a brave raid, or one with inside knowledge, successfully raids a train to steal its mineral riches.
