Overview

Covered in hilly steppes and a mix of hardy semi-arid vegetation and expansive deserts between mountain ranges, Ulanbatar is a mining world organized under the Supreme Jarughachi, a more hands on planetary governor befitting the more feudal organization of the world. The Jarughachi's forces, the Minqad, travel the world with their trusty Takhi steeds and collect Qubcar from the many mines or lumberyards found throughout the world. The Qubcar is carried in a growing caravan that is massive by the time the Minqad return to the world's only spaceport to deliver the tithe. Outside of the central city of Temujin, the population is mostly left to their devices so long as they continue to pay their Qubcar, though those who fail will see their yurt-villages burnt down and slaughtered, ensuring others do not fail to pay the Jarughachi. The wide plains and deserts have resulted in nomadic populations who travel from mine to mine or lumberyard to lumberyard, working as a transient workforce for food and pay. These nomadic bands are also expected to pay the Qubcar, though they generally pay with their firstborns. As most Ulanbatarans grow up riding horses, they are well suited for Rough Rider regiments and Ulanbatar's Kharash Cavalry Regiments can occasionally be found serving amongst the Imperial Guard.
