Overview

Once the crown jewel and capital of Kalibras, Wealf was hit particularly hard by the Phobox Anomaly. Swarmed by refugees in the immediate aftermath and stranded ships, cut off from other worlds due to warp storms, Wealf quickly found itself overwhelmed and unable to provide for its new residents. The massive waves of starvation and unrest present turned the once pristine shrine world into a dull breeding ground for heresy, and the forces of chaos soon took advantage. Plague cults of Nurgle and murder cults of Khorne took root and seized whole hives in orgies of pestilence, murder, and suffering, leading to a brutal war that was only stopped through the intervention of the Sisters of Battle. Even though contact has since been reestablished, the shortages, war, and harsh punishments from the Cardinal-Governor have left Wealf a shadow of its former glory. Still, trade and civilian life is as stable as it could be under the circumstances, and while Wealf is exempt from the tithe due to its shrine-world status and ongoing war, it still serves as a excellent forge for hardened priests and warriors as fervent as other world's priests. The more puritan members of the Eternum Inquisitorial conclave are especially fond of Hexorcists from Wealf, as their unbelievably brutality in rooting out any suspected heresy and fanaticism so strong it keeps them alive even after suffering grievous wounds have proven to be incredibly useful. This fervent belief comes at a cost ,however, with the suspicion and distrust so omnipresent in Hexorcists they have, in the past, used their holy flamers on innocents who sneezed during an Imperial Hymnal (suspected Nurglite worship), chainsworded a child who was obese and stuffing himself with sweets (suspected Slaneeshi worship), strangled a fellow Inquisitorial agent who stated they loved the smell of heretic blood (suspected Khornate worship), and used a krak grenade to blow themselves up along with a surprised Administratum Librerius who was carrying too many tomes on the Ninth assembly of Eternum's elector counts (suspected Tzeetchian worship). Still, these incidents are overshadowed by their combat skills and utter loyalty and incorruptibility to the Imperium, with even a few seeking out the most dangerous warzones to minister to the most veteran Guard regiments. Confessor Basillus Pious the Purifier who accompanies the 812th, is one such individual.
