Overview
A potent source of raw materials and fuel for the Dark Mechanicus, the Weeping Star is an odd star possessing a relic of the dark age of technology. The matter decompressor complex orbiting the star draws tendrils of hydrogen and iron in, converting them through unknown means to the desired material. The star's name originates in its appearance, with the massive archeotech station and the Dark Mechanicus processing stations forming what looks to be a disfigured face when viewed from a distance, with tendrils stretching from the station complexes that make up the eye. Imperial strategists have placed a high importance on seizing the system and destroying the matter decompressor, but their allies in the Mechanicus refuse to support any action that would see the relic destroyed. Even were they to ally, a massive fleet of Dark Mechanicus and Cult of the 9 Windows heretic marine ships guard the system.
