Overview

A more technologically advanced world relative to other death worlds, Daybreak has a technology level equivalent to civilized worlds though most of it is utilized for survival. Daybreak has a binary climate, with 36 Terra hour days followed by 128 Terra hours of darkness - although night technically lasts 36 hours as well, Daybreak's moon has a synchronized rapid orbit that causes it to eclipse Daybreak for 92 hours in a cycle. Daybreak has a pleasant climate during its day, but at night the world plunges to a freezing -180 degrees Celsius, rapidly killing anyone not in reinforced thermbunkers. Heat is provided by large geothermal vents that have bunkers built on top - even these vents are not enough and supplementary heat is provided by massive prometheum wells that are processed and refined. The thermbunkers are mostly regulated to isolated regions where they are connected through heated rail tunnels, though the more powerful thermbunkers form networks and Thermo-States. The wealthier bunkers utilize hydroponic crops, though most people subsist off what they gather during dayblooms - life has managed to survive and evolve to deal with the brutal nights, and cycles between mass daybloom events during day where they rapidly convert solar energy into growth, capable of growing a foot a minute. Daybreak signals rapid harvesting of this life before night falls, though harvesting is dangerous as well-due to the rapid growth it is all too easy for someone to get trapped and bound, unable to move as night approaches and thus the landscape is dotted with unlucky frozen statues after every nightfall. Even with this brutal cycle, the world is able to provide their prometheum tithe and trade for needed components, though every night is a struggle for survival for it only takes one breach to freeze a whole section of their thermbunkers.
