Overview

A feral world near the dangerous Aural Front, Qetex has nonetheless escaped attention from the Rotbelchers many attacks amongst the Aural Front. Imperial strategists believe that this is both due to the world's near total unimportance, and due to the nature of the world. Qetex orbits its parent star closely, with the system's smaller binary star in orbital resonance with Qetex, resulting in a sweltering climate that baseline humans would struggle to survive - the two stars cause an unceasing day, with the only darkness found within cave complexes. Qetex's atmosphere is just thick enough to prevent the heat from being lethal, but not quite enough to cause a runaway greenhouse effect. It is this natural balance, combined with the little resources of worth and natural radiation, that make the world more trouble than it would be worth to terraform into a productive world. Qetex is a desert-savanna type world, with simple hardy grasses and shrubtrees that families of native life like Pangotles feed from. Using their scale armor or other evolved cooling methods, the wildlife is a challenge for the simple tribes of Qetex to hunt, especially with the handcrafted simple spears and clubs they use. Qetexians oft wear the remains of the animals they hunt to help manage temperatures, though they themselves have evolved to be far more resistant to heat than average humans. Qetex is ruled from orbit by the planetary governor, and while no native psykers have ever been found on Qetex they do occasionally have to squash a heretical subversion of the Cloud God, Qetex's local interpretation of the Emperor. Still, these cults are minor and the lack of life to play god with has deterred any true subversion. Qetexians pay their tithe in manpower, with the governor choosing a cave-village at random to satisfy the Administratum - these feral worlds can be found serving in hotter climates throughout Eternum in small numbers, and Qetexian Masaai Regiments, memorable for their extensive ritualistic piercings and scarification, can be found charging into battle with simple armament.
