Overview

One of the few Agriworlds in Eternum to still have mega-life, Deadwood is named after the cities and farms that inhabit the remains of massive mega-trees that are found across its surface.

Life on the Planet

These mega-trees, the Grandia Alta Caelum Silva to the Mechanicus's Biologus, stretch for tens of miles into the sky, with massively thick trunks providing the support needed to reach these heights. As a result of these mega-trees that can live for millenia, the atmosphere is incredibly oxygen rich - a boon for crops but one that can lead to flash fires too easily. Luckily the trees themselves frequently discharge rivers of stored water that keeps them from burning down, though rarely a mega tree may die, potentially tipping over in a meteor scale strike. The floor of this world is covered in fresh water swamps and jungles that constantly shift due to the mega-tree's roots snaking through the ground, thus the inhabitants all live in either the remains of dead ancient trees, or on and inside a living tree. Farms are grown in these communities, though the massive bark plateaus of the tree are also used for growing, forming a huge farm-terrace that can output a truly impressive amount of provisions. As such, the world's only tithe is foodstuffs.
