Overview

The closest inhabited Imperial world to Ork space save for the Iron Gate, Marraco is a civilized world whose entire population and economy endeavor to aid the Iron Gate. Lasgun packs, razerwire, entrenching tools, ammunition, and more roll off Marraco's assembly lines around the clock for rapid shipping to the Iron Gate, with each transport filled with supplies and fresh manpower in the form of Marracan Ironforge Line Infantry Regiments. Marraco's numerous factories work at all hours, feeding off resource shipments brought in from off world or mined at the world's many mines, with all citizens expected to work at least one day on the assembly line and one training for the PDF, regardless of their primary occupations. This has resulted in easily replaced workers and soldiers, allowing centrally planned reassignments to keep critical industries working even during a Guard regiment founding or when a factory closes for repairs or upgrades.

The Ironforge regiments earned their name this way, as they approach Guard life with the same droll as an assembly line - for example, weapons cleaning rituals have one man disassemble weapons while the next cleans the barrel, the next calibrates the sights, and so on. This has caused the Ironforge to be far less effective in smaller numbers or when alone, but their camaraderie when together coupled with enhanced muscles from growing up under the constant toil of forging has created an excellent defensive force that excels in the trenches and fortresses of the Iron Gate. Marraco is subject to occasional Ork raiders that either hitch a ride on a space hulk or travel through a more dangerous warp lane to bypass the Iron Gate, but the real reason Marraco works so hard and readies its military is the simple fact that were the Iron Gate to fall, Marraco is the next target in the Ork's path to the bounty that would be looting Filimars and the other Forge Worlds of the Sector.
