Overview
The breadbasket of the Scattered Stars of Makerus, Ethonis is a world perpetually in the light as it orbits between two binary stars locked in a wide orbit. The stars, named Serenae and Woe, cover the world in light though each star is different and have spawned both real and imagined differences among the inhabitants of Ethonis. Serenae is the preferred sun as its warm rays coincide with harvest peaks and pleasant weather, where Woe shines a darker blue light over the world, bringing with it all manner of phenomena and inclement weather. Ethonites harvest under Sarenae but hide in their fortified homes when Woe's season begins, though luckily the plants of Ethonis have evolved to resist the bulk of the storms. The capital and sole spaceport are above the murmurs of the commoners, though even the PDF double up their patrols during the season of Woe. Ethonis is mostly peaceful, though after one particularly bad season of Woe the world could not meet its tithe. This incident that led to the loss of the 999th Bulgan Konquistadors and the involvement of both the Inquisition and Crimson Bulwark has since been forgotten by the world save for myths and hushed whispers about the Woeblight.
