Overview
Unique amongst the Bulwark's recruiting worlds, Ittsfurth is a heavily forested feudal world with a marked increased appearance of psykers compared to the other recruitment worlds. Though the other recruitment worlds rarely find a promising candidate for the Liberius, the majority originate from Ittsfurth. Although most only manifest their powers during the trials, a select few manifest earlier and the children of Ittsfurth are constantly watched for any trace of sorcery. The Bulwark has propagated the belief that their trials can fix the nascent sorcerers, and thus the population happily offer their children to the crucible of the Bulwark's trials - for those psykers who survive into adulthood and avoid the trials or the routine blackships are hunted down and burned in public witchcraft trials. Still, the higher percentage of psykers amongst the population of Ittsfurth all but guarantees the odd witch or sorcerer hiding in the dark forests, and the people of Ittsfurth often find themselves warring with the terrible products of witchcraft. Research to date has not uncovered why the forest world has so many psykers compared to other planets, the only difference seen thus far is that warp space near Ittsfurth is especially turbulent - so far only theories exist, from the Ecclesiarchy's belief it is the Emperor testing the fealty of Ittsfurth, to Mechanicus Genators theory that the original colonists were modified genetically, to some more puritan Inquisitorial researchers believing the world itself is tainted in some unseen manner.
