Overview
Dangerous even by the standards of the average hive world, Landeni is a brutal world mixed with an obsessive interest in augmentics. Controlled by mega-cartels and mega-corporations with the planetary government a board of directors chosen from the leaders of the largest cartels and corporations, hives are criminally infested cities with gang fights and corp wars the norm, with even the local enforcers declaring certain areas no-go zones due to unstoppable violence. So high is the mortality rate that the nearby cemetery world Respite was created for those who have the thrones to receive more than a soylens viradians reprocessing funeral or more commonly conversion into a servitor to continue to pay their incurred debt, with the only 'safe zones' being corporate owned neighborhoods, though they're only as safe as the residents employment status. Augmented individuals are the norm here, as Landeni's chief product allows even the destitute to buy one or more augments (on credit, of course). The more well off individuals are more machine than man, but in contrast to the Mechanicus they prefer more 'human' cybernetics. Everything has a cost on this world, from the best technology to the worst scrap, even medical care is owned by one of these mega corps, available to those who pay. Trauma Response Incorporated serves as a paramedic response team, armed to the teeth and guaranteeing a seven minute response or your thrones back, though this comes at a high cost. They'll fix any who can pay up, but miss a payment and they'll have no issues repossessing that augmented kidney or heart you needed to live. The sector at large turns a blind eye to this world, as although they seem to have more faith in the Throne than the Emperor, they've never missed a tithe, and the guardsmen they've sent fight tooth and nail to avoid being sent back to face debt collectors of their homeworld.
