Overview
A hellish death world whose native life would pose a serious threat if it were capable of living more than a generation old-world, Senomorf nonetheless has a tiny population of survivors. The original colonists found an outwardly pleasant world with an ideal temperate climate, and maintained that belief until the native fauna began adapting to the cities they began to construct. The colonists began exploring their world as the cities continued to grow, and eventually found a xenos structure built into a cave and covered with egg like mushrooms. Unbeknownst to the explorers, they disturbed the long dormant eggs which dispersed a cloud of what would soon become the apex predator of Senomorf, named after the planet itself. These explorers returned to their respective cities, and soon fell ill from the spores they unknowingly inhaled. Almost in perfect synchronicity, each of these explorers suffered extreme coughing fits in hospitals and their homes, the results of the spores rapidly growing inside. These spores would be the first Senomorfs, exploding out of each colonists before wreaking havoc on anyone nearby, collecting those it didn't kill for further propagation. These Senomorfs laid eggs near their captives encased in resin, each one containing a larval form Senomorf who would clamp onto the captive and lay the seed of another Senomorf. Eventually escaping from their resin binds with foggy memories, these infected colonists would flee to hastily established safe zones before repeating the process. Senomorfs quickly spread across the world, establishing themselves as the ultimate predator and both wiping out any native fauna and most of the human settlers, growing their numbers with each. The Senomorf spread was so total that small isolated bands of survivors armed with flamers were the only other life not part of the Senomorf life cycle, which has continued to the present millennium. The survivors fight off waves of Senomorfs daily in their fortified bunkers, with the only food coming from the Departmento Munitorum and hunting parties that sneak through to Senomorf clutches to harvest immature and edible resin and eggs. This routine horror and fight for survival has made the Senomorf Guard regiments, the Seno Torchers, an exceptional Death World regiment that has proven a deadly foe for the enemies of Mankind.
