Overview
An Agri-World known more for its famed Guard regiments than its produce, Zammyn-Uud is a tropical planet that possesses danger and mystery in equal amounts. Covered in large ziggurats that dangerous native life congregate around, Zammyn-Uud's farms are made up of large rows of Zambanaa trees that constantly produce large clusters of edible fruit that can be eaten fresh or more commonly rendered down for nutriloaf found in poorer locations across the sector. The Zambanaas themselves are slightly sweet and well liked throughout the sector among those who can afford them, but harvesting them is oft rife with danger. Requiring manual picking of the clusters, workers climb each tree and pick clusters, though the native fauna often have the same idea. The Zambanaa spider and the ogrmonkeys are both constant dangers for menials working one of Zammyn-Uud's many plantations. The Zambanaa spider, the size of a small child, waits in the clusters and strikes when someone reaches for the fruit, delivering a potent paralytic. If not rescued by a fellow menial the spider will lay a cluster of eggs on the helpless victim, which quickly hatch and begin feeding on the unfortunately conscious victim, before eating each other with the strongest scuttling away to repeat the process. The more callous farm owners chalk this up to acceptable losses, ensuring the spiders will continue to plague the workers. The ogrmonkeys, named for their ogryn like appearance, are massive ape like creatures that swing from Zambaana tree to tree, and often attack menials in order to steal their harvest. Both are routinely culled by Zammyn-Uud's PDF, though the thick and lush jungle ensures the fauna have plenty of locations to hide in. The environment and lethal fauna have benefitted the Imperium, as the Zammyn-Uud Machete Regiments that are recruited from the PDF are exemplary light and recon infantry for the Imperial Guard.
