Overview

More a collection of very large asteroids than a world, Sinhon is one of the larger sources of materials in the mineral rich Shattered Worlds belt. Over millennia, asteroids, comets, and derelict vessels have all been brought together and joined to the central asteroid. Following the same practices for millennia, miners and salvagers strip any new asteroid for useful materials before turning the dugout tunnels and caverns into more living space for the ever growing population. Sinhon's people live in poor conditions, with ramshackle temporary docking tubes turned into permanent transit lines to connect the collection of asteroids to the central Sinhon asteroid's atrium, with only centuries old grappling lines and gravity tethers holding them together. Sinhon's salvaging of old crafts floating adrift in the Shattered Worlds Belt has proven advantageous to the Ecclesiarchy however, as the ships are turned into pilgrim fleets whenever a confessor or priest needs to spread the Emperor's word. Sinhon's population welcomes the Ecclesiarchy, both owing to Sinhonian dogmatic tendencies and for the chance to leave Sinhon's cramped structures. These tendencies protect Sinhon in most of their harvesting, though more than one prospecting crew has been executed for bringing back a find that Sinhon's priests believed tainted. Although the hab quarters are more fragile than the populace would like, millennia of salvaging the Shattered Worlds has left Sinhon with robust defenses that deter most attacks. If the salvaged macrocannon and lance batteries can't stop the raiders, the omnipresent Pilgrim and salvage fleets fall upon them and ensure Sinhon stays with the Emperor's faithful. Sinhon's population also makes a frequent recruitment stop for the Imperial Navy, as growing up in the conditions on Sinhon prepares the populace well for Naval service.
