The Sepulchur
Overview
Located at the only Mandeville point in the Excrutio system that's not surrounded by massive minefields and serves as the sole entrance and exit point, the Selpulchur is a fortress station that resembles a small moon, with a massive amount of macrocannons, Lance's, torpedoes, strike craft, fighters, turrets, and boarding craft designed to protect the Inquisition's secrets.
Defenses and System Security
Any ship that arrives in Excrutio is ordered to immediately power off their void shield and any armaments and proceed to dock at a floating berth attached to the fortress proper through a umbilical tunnel. The ship is tracked from its arrival to its docking by the scores of macrocannon batteries and lance batteries, with any attempt to power up or deviate met with enough fire to cripple even a battleship. Upon docking, the captain or ranking officers are to disembark unarmed and await a search of their vessel. Even with legions of servo-skulls and Inquisitorial stormtroopers, this can take days, weeks, or months for larger ships - thus, if the ship itself doesn't need to proceed any further only the individuals or cargo will proceed through the umbilical while their ship is continuously searched their whole visit. Inquisitors themselves, who are part of the conclave, get an abridged version where they merely dock to verify identity in person before proceeding.
The umbilical exists to stop any would be boarders-if the ship docks and tons of boarders pour out, the umbilical is detonated and the ship turned into slag by the weapon batteries. This system has repeatedly foiled would be infiltrators, but a powerful psyker or very well hidden compartments have snuck by in the past, though the fortresses and defensive vessels within the system can defeat them all the same. As a final defensive measure, the Sepulcher has a massive hidden void bomb in its interior - were an enemy fleet to arrive that threatened to overpower the station, this bomb would detonate and severely damage, if not obliterate, said fleet. For those who know the true extent of this system's defenses, it is one of the most defended points in the sector, second only to the Crimson Bulwark's Shield of Absolution fortress and system. The Sepulchur is guarded by Inquistorial stormtroopers and armsmen, and attended by techpriests seconded to the Inquisition (where the magi of the mechanicus and Lexmechanics, along with other tech priests serving the Inquisition are headquartered).
