Overview
Capital of Makerus, Artisan's Refuge is the smallest of the subsector capitals and has, since its founding, encouraged creative pursuits over more drole occupations. An arrangement only possible thanks to the protection of the Crimson Bulwark, the world is covered in museums, artistic displays, and sculptures. Originally founded by a noble family and their followers who grew tired of the productivity focused life in Richmon, the founding family created a world where creativity was rewarded, safe from the violence or harsh regimes so often found in the sector. While Artisan's Refuge is no slouch in inter-sector politics, they also are only the capital on paper as the Bulwark are the true masters of Makerus. The world does provide villeins for the Bulwark for its tithe, with the rest of its manpower tithe being collected from the lower classes or artists who have made powerful enemies. The world escaped any significant combat during the first Poxwar, but its artists are commonly found on other worlds in the sector, searching for inspiration or recording a sanitized version of the sector's history.
