Overview

A hot and dry desert world, Parth is filled with promethium deposits, a technically habitable atmosphere, and unruly natives. Cut off from the Imperium for millennia, when Parth was rediscovered the original colonists were found to have devolved into an aggressive, tribal mockery of Mankind that excelled in the harsh deserts of Parth. The mutants were purged, though their adaptations and knowledge of Parth allowed significant numbers to avoid death, with the most powerful tribes hiding beneath the sands and striking at the Imperial crews sent to extract the massive promethium deposits. As a result, each promethium pumpjack is akin to a desert bunker, built to protect the workers while the PDF fight off tribal raiders. There are few towns on Parth, the only settlements being either dedicated to refineries or space ports, guarded by the PDF against tribal raiders. Although not prisoners, most workers on Parth will spend their whole lives living and working on their assigned pumpjack or tending to the refineries or spaceports. The tribal mutants have avoided several pushes to purge them, and thus the world does not have manpower to spare for the tithe, it's only contribution being massive amounts of Promethium. More radical members of the Genetors have launched expeditions designed to capture some of the mutants, though to date they've only managed to gather corpses. The tribal mutants are adapted for the sand, able to swim beneath it to the fossilized corpses of the Sandwhales they build their simple huts in, hidden from the watchful eye of the Imperium.
