Overview
The only recruitment death world under the Crimson Bulwark, Omicron Perseus VIII is also home to the Redoubt of Reflection and attendant facilities where aspirants either are forged into new marines or broken. Omicron Perseus VIII possesses different climates and environments, all deadly in their own way, from the burning plains where an errant lightning strike or careless actions can set entire fields of Lurrgrass alight in seconds to the warp touched archipelago where sea travel is more akin to traveling through the warp, to the harsh highlands filled with terrifying xeno-fauna that carry the results of the tainted First Poxwar in their blood. Humanity survives barely, with only the protection of the Bulwark's master crafted weaponry gifted to towns that have provided a successful aspirant allowing towns to truly prosper- the rest fighting daily for survival while preparing the next batch of supplicants, hoping that at least one will succeed and bring much needed protection. The Redoubt of Reflection lies at the summit of the Cursed Precipice, where every aspirant who passes all the prerequisite tests find themselves, with all manner of angered Omicron life emerging to kill the interlopers once the Bulwark activate the Rune of Initiation. The high casualty rate only serves to provide the utter best to the Bulwark, though the remains of failures are scattered all around the Redoubt.
