Overview
More aptly a military world than the fortress world designation it possesses, Heinlein exists at a warp route Nexus point where most traffic from Caligulas and Kalibras flows through. Serving as a defensive point were Caligulas or Kalibras ever to be severely penetrated, Heinlein's primary foe has been pirates, the odd xenos vessel, or infested space hulk that try to sneak through. A small planetoid that still possesses a breathable atmosphere and the gravity of a proper world thanks to its super dense core, Heinlein has produced some of the most skilled pilots found in Valkyries, Fury Interceptors, and other Imperial aircraft, as well as being the home of the Heinlein Mobile Infantry drop regiments. Constantly training and conducting ship interceptions and rapid counter pirate raids, the Heinleiners are effective military population that can be found throughout the sector. Heinlein's population is required to serve a stint in the PDF regardless of origin or aptitude, thus the world stands ready to reinforce Eternum as needed. The fortress cities are where the bulk of the population live, with areas outside the fortress complexes sparsely populated and oft used for training excercises. Heinlein's system Tarip does possess a large asteroid and planetoid field along with several other uninhabited planets, and Tarip's large size results in small pirate and renegade bases occasionally appearing. These pirate and renegade bases range from small stashes to cartel backed outposts, but the Heinlein Defense Forces are well trained and equipped to deal with the interlopers.
