Overview

A resource world orbiting a minor gas planet and named after the once thought mad Abterro Higgin, Higgin's Moon was originally settled by Abterro Higgin and the few retainers who believed him when he stated that the moon Ciynus-83 was a bountiful world filled with mineral riches. He paid no heed to the surveys that said the world was a barren, useless moon, squandering his entire noble family's wealth on financing a colony. Surprising everyone, Higgin's Moon soon found rich veins of adamantine, ceramite, and flogiston hidden beneath a layer of rock that scrambled auspex scans. The world quickly attracted more workers and noble backers, and although it is not as productive as other resource worlds in Eternum, the moon has a respectable output. Though Abterro Higgins himself was executed for suspected sorcery, the descendants of Higgins still rule the world from the capital Higgin's City from the Higgin Palace, serviced by the Higgin's Spaceport and protected by the Higgin's Army. The world has paid its tithe like clockwork, both mineral and in Guard regiments (The Higginite Regiments confound officers owing to all soldiers sharing the Higgins surname). The world is not pleasant, with large habdomes built to keep a breathable atmosphere. Unlike the average resource world, there is room for advancement among the laborers and miners, though they must either work exceptionally hard, scheme cleverly, or get lucky in staking a new claim.
