Overview

An Agri-World with no crops, Mandalgabi instead takes full advantage of the excessively humid climate and raises mushrooms in massive swamp mycofarms, which are then rendered into edible ration bars in massive rendering plants providing a nutritious, if not particularly tasty, food source for Eternum. Not all mycofarms are equal however, and smaller specialty fungi are cultivated and gathered by farms that cater to the more well off of Eternum, with Mandalgabi Truffle particularly sought out by house chefs that serve nobility. Life for all on Mandalgabi is unpleasant owing to the constant swampy humidity found everywhere, with the planetary governor and attendants situated in orbit with their edicts and production quotas enforced by PDF troopers in air conditioned armor. Menials have adapted over millennia to Mandalgabi's climate, though the ever increasing demand for more food has led to workers being imported, worked until they cannot function anymore and then oft arrested on loosely defined laws and subject to Servitude Imperpituis, which ensures they will continue to serve the farms until their parts break down in the swamps. The PDF, recruited from the lucky few menials of Mandalgabi who were in the right place at the right time or who impressed a PDF commander, have become experts at navigating difficult swampy terrain and functioning in dangerously high humidity conditions. These PDF directly contribute to the Imperial Guard in the form of the Mandalgabi Mangrove Stalkers, well liked light infantry regiments who excel in conditions that would bog down other regiments.
