Overview

An important hive world for Battlefleet Eternum, Senshurr provides some of the best deck masters, ratings, and naval gunners in Eternum. In addition to its plentiful population that is constantly ferried to new ships or replacing lost crews, Senshurr is also a favorite port of call for the officers and others on the vessel trusted with shore leave. Senshurr has every distraction a sailor could want, from casinos to brothels to parlors and restaurants and anything in between. The real draw is the incredibly low prices - allowing sailors to unwind without losing all their thrones (save the overly persistent gamblers). Each Hive has its own so called 'Void Districts', restricted to those who work there, Naval sailors (or travellers from other worlds), and the well off who can afford the pricey admission for planetary visitors. This setup is not out of the goodness of Senshurr's heart or the loyalty of its nobility, instead the Void Districts and the priority of treating the sailors is to garner favors with Naval officers and command (or blackmail material for the less scrupulous establishments). This has by and large been successful, with Senshurr enjoying the same strategic importance designation as Bellerophon, ensuring she's defended and prioritized over the less recreational worlds. This also gives the nobles of Senshurr significant connections with Imperial Navy Captains and Officers, allowing them to get variances for their pet projects or support for an expedition to something they have their eye on, or even using the Navy as a heavily armed taxi by boarding and traveling with a ship, leaving when the noble reaches their destination but enjoying eating at the officer's mess in the interim.

The Inquisition is loosely aware of the nature of Senshurr's and the Navy's relationship, though permit it to continue as it doesn't interfere with the defense of Eternum currently and doesn't pose an overly large risk to the ships or crew involved. The more base establishments are not what they seem however, and while the more upscale locales frequented by captains, deck officers, and other mid-to high ranking sailors are safe, the lower end sailors allowed shore leave are at risk of visiting the wrong brothel or establishment, where insidious cults belonging to one of four of the Ruinous powers take advantage of the lowered guard of the sailors to try to gather information on fleet movements or weaknesses, or to subtlety convert them to serving the dark gods. Senshurr's underbelly is festering with cults, with the 4 most prominent (and with the most establishments owned or corrupted) being The Princely Pleasure (who operate brothels, obscure dens, overly gluttonous buffets, or music venues), The Blood Marked (who operate fight clubs and other violence focused entertainment), The Blossoming Tumor (who operate the popular 'Life After Death' social clubs), and The Arcane Seekers (who prey on the scholarly or too curious with arcane mysteries, magic shows, or bookstores). So far they have gone unnoticed, though Battlefleet Eternum occasionally suffers when ambushed off information gathered by the cults, or betrayed by one of the lower ranking officers in the heat of battle, time will tell if the Inquisition connects the dots and Senshurr is subject to Imperial censor or not.
