Overview

An agricultural world relatively close to Auerilis IV, and in fact responsible for feeding Auerilis IV and the Aural Gate, Cudsu is a large verdant world that is one of top food producers of the sector. This is balanced out by their culture, an array of constantly battling regional states, all fighting to be the state that produces the most food. The most bountiful state's leader becomes planetary governor, but it is a constantly assaulted position as the fields are fought over constantly. What is truly unique is that no fields may be harmed, as that is both forbidden by their rules of war and the only thing the Imperium cares for on the world. These rules of war are enforced by the closest thing to a central authority Cudsu possesses, a death cult called They who walk behind the Rows, who watch the fields and deliver swift retribution to any who harm them, intentionally or accidentally. This leads to a juxtaposition of pristine fields next to slaughtered villages, with armies of peasants working the fields of those they just slew. The states of the world, to prevent any destruction of their fields, forbid the use of flame, gunpowder, and las weaponry, thus the armies of Cudsu march with swords and automatic crossbows, with strider combines scurrying alongside. Cudsu's only tithes are massive amounts of food and occasionally a Guard founding for more rough riders, but occasionally an enterprising rogue trader or Inquisitor will recruit the hardier peasants of the world as it's rare to find someone who is an incredibly skilled swordsman, but can also operate machinery in the sector.
