Overview

The most populous planet of the Shattered Worlds belt, and the preeminent industrial world of Caligulas, Lopiytz churns out countless munitions, armament, and goods for the Aural Front. Split between the oversight of Filimars and Stotgurt, Lopiytz has evolved two disparate cultures that, while loyal to the Imperium, nonetheless differ significantly and both claim to be true Lopiytzians and decry the other as upstarts. Filimars oversight resulted in Lopiytz of the Antikythera Mechanism being formed under the leadership of the appointed Technomat Primlogis, themselves chosen by the ruling Technomat Logos. The Antikythera are a regimented group like the Filimars techpriests who assist them, with laypeople born into the work class they will die in, while those who further Filimars's aims rise through the ranks of the many Technomats present. Theirs is a very regimented culture, which places Filimars dogma above all else. In contrast, Stotgurt's oversight of Lopiytz the Motive is far looser and, like the motive force they praise, society is ever changing. Using the motive force as a guide, random individuals believed to be blessed by the motive force are raised up, while those cursed by the force are cast down. The lack of strict doctrine adherence allows the Motive to use creative thought to solve some problems, anametha to Filimars, though the same force can lead to tech-heresy forming. Both sides generally avoid conflict save for when tensions are highest, but the massive tithe needed for the Aural Front is always delivered, with both sides competing to produce a larger tithe. Owing to Lopiytz importance to subsector production, watchful Inquisitorial forces familiar with the Mechanicus ensure the world doesn't deviate too far, and if so, Ordos Hereticus and their chambers militant are eager to meet out justice on a world that praises the Omnissiah more than the Emperor.
